Ughh. School, you piss me off.

I can tell it is late in the semester because I am completely literature-deprived. I just can’t seem to stop thinking about my utter infatuation with language. Shameful, I only know one foreign language, but I feel like I can redeem myself with it being the most beautiful existing one… Française. It seems I am craving a good read so badly that I actually am taking time to appreciate words that I get to use throughout my busy day. Exciting life, I know… Anyway it is only fair, since I know two languages, that I get to pick from the entirety of my vocabulary, what my favorite words are. Therefore, I can incorporate French at my leisure, but first comes what may be my favorite word.

1.Eloquent (Élle•ә•kwent): 1. Speaking or spoken beautifully and forcefully; said or saying something in a forceful, expressive, and persuasive way 2. Expressing emotion clearly; expressing a feeling or thought clearly, memorably, and movingly.
Only natural that I would love that word.

2. Appeler (á•pél•ay): French word meaning: To call or to name. This is mostly used in introductions, but is also used in a famous French saying; “Appeler un chat un chat” which translates as “To call a cat a cat” or in our words “ a spade a spade”
J’appelle (já•péll): I call. T’appelle: You call. S’appelle: He/She calls
Je m’appelle (jә•má•péll) : I call myself… Used in introductions
Ex) «Bonjour, Je m’appelle Haley. Comment t’appelle tu ? » (informal) Or « Comment vous appeler-vous ? » (formal) Both phrases mean : What do you call yourself ?

The reason this is my favorite word is, that when I hear someone’s name it is fun to try it on in french. It is really fun to do it when the name ends in Elle. Like “J m’appelle Annabelle!” “Elle s’appelle Isabelle!”
